Converter/charger
The converter powers the RV's DC distribution and charges the house battery when AC input is available. Replacement decisions include DC amperage, charging stages, lithium support, physical fit, cooling, and compatibility with the existing distribution center.
Inverter and inverter/charger
An inverter draws substantial battery current to run AC loads away from shore power. A combined inverter/charger can also charge the bank and transfer loads when shore power appears. Pure-sine output is the safer general choice for sensitive electronics and motor loads that require a clean waveform.

- 12-, 24-, or 48-volt battery-bank compatibility.

- Transfer-switch current and neutral/ground behavior.
- Remote control, low-voltage cutoff, and temperature compensation.
Calculate the battery-side current
A large inverter can draw hundreds of amps at 12 volts. The bank, battery management system, busbars, disconnect, fuse, and cables must all support that current. Buying more inverter wattage without upgrading the DC path can create voltage drop, nuisance shutdowns, or overheating.
When replacement needs professional design
