Secure the situation
Keep people clear of the RV and jack area. Set the parking brake, follow the chassis and leveling instructions, and use wheel chocks where specified. Do not move the RV while a jack is extended.
Photograph the panel message and note which jacks moved before the fault. Listen for a motor or pump, but do not place hands near moving linkage.
Check shared power before individual parts
Electric and hydraulic leveling systems need strong battery power. Confirm the battery is charged and connect the approved charging source. A system-wide failure or low-voltage message is more likely to involve shared power, controls, a breaker, or a pump than four simultaneous jack failures.
- Record battery voltage from the RV's installed monitor.
- Check for a tripped breaker using the RV manual.
- Look for visible hydraulic fluid only from a safe standing position.
- Stop for a bent jack, hot cable, leaking hose, or unexpected movement.
Use the correct recovery procedure
Lippert controllers provide different manual or emergency procedures depending on system family and panel. Do not copy a valve-opening, motor-driving, or drill procedure from a different system.
If the panel reports an out-of-stroke condition, retract and reposition the RV or use approved blocks rather than forcing additional extension.
When mobile service is the safer option
Call qualified mobile service when a jack is bent, the RV is unstable, hydraulic fluid is leaking, a motor or cable overheats, the manual procedure is unavailable, or the jack still cannot be safely retracted.
