What it means

Plain-English answer

The RM1350 manual places the approximate acceptable control range at 8–18 VDC. A weak battery, excessive charging voltage, converter fault, or voltage drop can trigger E4.

Owner-safe checks

What to check first

  1. 01

Check the RV battery monitor and charging-system indicators.

  2. 02

Turn off unnecessary 12-volt loads and confirm battery connections are not loose or hot.

  3. 03

Disconnect an external charger using its normal procedure if voltage is excessive.

Safety boundary

Stop and call a technician when

  • A battery is swollen, hot, leaking, or smells of sulfur.
  • Voltage remains outside the RV manufacturer's specified range.
